Le Défi Inter-Alliances is an online trivia tournament in French. Alliances Française students from around the world compete to win the grand prize - up to 6 winners will enjoy a trip to Nice!

We also have exciting prizes for the winners of our local Brisbane round - a free course at AF Brisbane, and bottles of champagne and wine are up for grabs for the top 3 contestants!

Besides the awesome prizes, the Défi is a fun way to practise your French, test your knowledge of French culture, connect with students from other classes and perhaps cities and countries, and to proudly represent Brisbane & Australia in an international competition!

The 2025 competition consists of four rounds:

	Round 1: BRISBANE LOCAL SELECTION Tuesday 29 April 5:30pm, in-person at Alliance Française de Brisbane Prizes: 1st: 1 free standard course at Alliance Française de Brisbane 2nd: 1 bottle of champagne 3rd: 1 bottle of wine
	Round 2: AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL SELECTION Saturday 3 May (evening - time TBC), online Prizes: 1st and 2nd: $300 gift voucher for a French restaurant in the participant's local city
	Round 3: ASIA-PACIFIC GEOGRAPHICAL ZONE SELECTION Saturday 24 May (time TBC), online Prize: 1st: A trip to Nice from 21-27 July 2025, including flights, accommodation and an allowance
	Round 4: INTERNATIONAL FINAL TBC - the week of 21 July 2025, in-person at the Alliance Française de Nice, France

The two highest scoring contestants of the local and national selections will progress to the next round. The highest scoring contestant of the geographical zone selection will travel to Nice and compete in the international final.

Entry is free! The competition is open to all current AF Brisbane students in level A2 and above, aged 18+. Registrations close on Sunday 27 April.
